Department Description:
The Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies (Kroc School) was launched in 2007 at the University of San Diego as the first stand-alone graduate school of peace and justice in the United States. The Kroc School trains the changemakers and peacebuilders of today and tomorrow.


Detailed Description:
The Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies (Kroc School) at the University of San Diego is seeking candidates for the position of Professor of Practice, beginning September 2024. This a full-time one-year position with a possibility to extend.

The position involves teaching a number of online and in-person courses, including but not limited to Mediation, Facilitation & Dialogue, and Organizational Conflict. The position further involves administrative responsibilities such as advising students, coordinating the Graduate Certificate in Mediation & Conflict Resolution, and similar assignments. To be successful at the University of San Diego, the candidate must be able to teach courses in-the-field and/or that include experiential learning.

Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have experience as a practitioner, facilitator, and mediator in community-based and organizational settings. Teaching or training experience is a plus. The successful candidate must hold a graduate degree in Peace or Conflict Studies or a related field at the time of appointment.


Posting Salary:
$5,883 to $6,667/month; Excellent Benefits

The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
