Job Summary:

The SON Clinical and Simulation Coordinator will work in collaboration with the Director of Innovative Learning, Director of Operations and the FNP program director. The coordinator will be involved in running simulation scenarios. The coordinator will also be responsible for coordinating and managing the clinical aspects of the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program. The role involves working closely with faculty members, clinical preceptors, healthcare organizations, and students to ensure clinical experiences meet the program learning outcomes.

Salary Pay Range: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour

Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Serve as simulator operator running pre-programmed scenarios with School of Nursing faculty instructors, assuring all equipment is set up for course programs. Assure simulation materials are reset or put away following each simulation day

• Support/assist in role playing applications, props placement and moulage set-up. 

• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and conduct routine inventory updates for the School of Nursing.  Provide purchase list of supplies and materials. 

• Assure that all equipment is in good working order at all times. 

• Participate in technical training as necessary.

• Develop and maintain clinical databases and other systems to track student progress and clinical experiences.

• Collaborate in the clinical placement process such as identifying and securing clinical sites, preceptors, and schedules.

• Facilitate communication and collaboration among FNP students, clinical preceptors, and faculty members.

• Develop and maintain relationships with clinical partners, including healthcare organizations, hospitals, and community clinics.

• Ensure that FNP program clinical experiences comply with regulatory and accreditation requirements.

• Provide guidance and support to FNP program faculty and students regarding clinical policies, procedures, and regulations.

• Evaluate clinical preceptors and sites to ensure that they meet program standards and requirements.

 QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Previous experience in simulation lab preferred. 

• An Associate's degree in technology or a health-related field is required. 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, technology, or health-related field preferred. 

• Must be able to independently move equipment (less than 25 lbs.) and move manikins (less than 50 lbs.) with the assistance of others.

• Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, staff agree to live in agreement with PLNU’s Community Life Covenant.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES PREFERRED: 

• Proficiency in Google Suite and MS software applications including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as Internet and database applications. 

• Ability to learn new software and hardware quickly and independently.

• Ability to work with internal and external individuals from different disciplines and different levels of training. 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

• Self-motivated and ability to work effectively in a team environment. 

• Excellent organizational skills.
