The Cedars -Sinai F. Widjaja Foundation Inflammatory Bowel and Immunobiology Research Institute (IBIRI) is searching for a highly motivated Research Associate II (RAII) to be a part of an exciting opportunity within Dr. Dermot McGovern's research laboratory!
As an RAII, you will work under direct supervision to perform routine and increasingly complex laboratory tasks and procedures and develop technical expertise in one or more areas relevant to research projects. You will participate in research activities involving all aspects of the research process, to include but not limited to: investigation, technical, testing/validation of results, and report findings. You will also perform a variety of routine experimental protocols and procedures to support the objectives of laboratory research projects, and will assist in the preparation of data for publication and/or presentation at scholarly meetings.
Additional Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Order and stock laboratory supplies and follow up on shipments and orders received
Prepare and stock media
Autoclave glassware and water, wash labware, and clean and maintain equipment/space on an established schedule
Generate organoids from iPSC lines
Perform molecular and cell culture assays as needed
Optimize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Establish new procedures in the lab under supervision and develop matching SOPs
