Research Support - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
The Research Assistant I position is responsible for assisting the lab manager with mouse colony maintenance in support of the Principal Investigator (PI) and lab research goals. Colony maintenance includes breeding, weaning, handling, and coordinating with lab members with their experimental animal needs. Other duties include assisting with general tissue processing (e.g. perfusions, histology, immunohistochemistry) and making general lab solutions as well as assisting on animal behavior experiments.
The Research Assistant II position will be as described in RA I position but will depend on experience and level of expertise with mouse colony maintenance and tissue processing.
BS in Biological Sciences or related field
Must be willing to work in an animal-related research environment.
Must be willing to work with chemicals.
Satisfactory completion of the Instituteâ™s background investigation.
This position requires constant seeing, sitting, analyzing, communicating, reasoning, exposure to animals, potential allergens, and working inside.
