Research Support - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
The molecular neurobiology lab is looking for a motivated research assistant to be part of a fastÂ paced, multi-disciplinary research team aimed at developing novel genetic technologies. The Research Assistant I will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and analysis of data that will directly influence the successful in vivo translation of many project goals. The Research Assistant I position is responsible for several in vitro efforts including but not limited to plasmid preparation and cloning, transfections of 3D culture systems, data acquisition and analysis.Assistance with in vivo experiments will also be required. Good lab practice and excellent lab notebook keeping is essential.
A minimum of 1 years of experience as a lab technician or equivalent related experience or equivalent combination of education and C. elegans experience.Demonstrated experience with general lab maintenance, including cleaning, stocking supply inventory, and ensuring the maintenance of a sterile environment.
Experience handling small animals
Must be willing to work in an animal-related research environment.
Must be willing to work an adjusted schedule to support research needs.
Successful completion of the lnstitute's background investigation.
This position requires constant adjusting focus, seeing, sitting, touching and feeling and working inside.
