The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), School of Nursing (UMSON) is currently seeking a full-time, contractual Program Coordinator . This position will work in the Department of Family and Community Health to coordinate the activities and functions of the Coordinated Community Engagement Program, in order to ensure that goals and objectives specified for the program are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications. The incumbent is expected to function independently and exercise discretion to accomplish and improve the programmatic objectives.
This is a full-time, contractual position.

Coordinates day-to-day activities of the program with inter-related activities of other programs, departments or staff to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures and specifications.
Plans and coordinates meetings and events, including recruitment of participants, arranging logistical requirements, preparing necessary materials, and handling communication and tracking.
Assists with the development and implementation of marketing and advertising campaigns or related promotional activities, working closely with communications professionals to market and promote events of the program.
Communicates with students, faculty, staff and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives. Builds and maintains strong relationships with community members and partners in order to grow the programming.
Assists in conceptualization, development, and drafting of written products such as training materials, website content, final progress reports, recommendations, and other information resources for the improvement of the organizational element or its programs.
Prepares periodic reports, manages data collection for events, keeps records on program activities, progress, status or other special reports for management.
Performs other administrative duties having a significant impact on the overall goals of program.
Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
One year of administrative/coordinator program experience (required), two years preferred.
Experience in the area of community engagement and/or service-learning (preferred)
Experience in a higher education setting (preferred).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge in the area of community engagement, community partnerships, and service-learning.
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision, maintain high standards with the work performed, and prioritize to effectively attend to various duties simultaneously.
Skill to effectively use technology, and in relevant PC application and programs including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power point, etc.).
Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written formats, including producing written summaries and leading meetings/discussions.
Ability to work cooperatively with others and demonstrate professional, ethical, respectful and courteous behavior when interacting with others in order to provide excellent service and follow-up, and to manage conflict.
Ability to collaborate across multiple sectors.
