Under general direction of the Finance Administrator and Chief Administrative Officer of the Department of Neurology, incumbent is responsible for the financial & administrative management of major federal, non-federal, and private contracts and grants as well as other extramural funds that support various research activities of the department. Incumbent also assists in analysis of departmental funding and participates as team member in budget preparation and financial management decisions for the department. As part of the Neurology Finance Team, the incumbent has independent decision making authority, policy analysis and interpretation and independent problem solving responsibilities that requires on-going interaction with all levels of university and agency, faculty and staff. Incumbent is responsible for providing specific direction to faculty and staff to assure compliance with contract and grant costing principals. Requires knowledge of: agency specific contracts and grants policies; material management to include purchasing principles; personnel/payroll procedures; recharge principles; research subcontracting concepts; indirect cost principles; policies and practices related to Federal Cost Accounting Standards requirements.The University of California, Irvine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer advancing inclusive excellence.
