Key Assessment and EdTPA Coordinator Job Description
The Office of Accreditation and Credentialing is responsible for the collection and analysis of accountability data to ensure that the Rossier School of Education has practices and outcomes consistent with our mission. This office ensures that all candidates meet Federal, State and Program requirements before being recommended for an education credential. The Office of Accreditation and Credentialing is seeking a Key Assessment and EdTPA Coordinator who will join the team to primarily perform the specialized duties associated with coordinating key assessments across academic programs and administrative support for the EdTPA .Â
This position will report directly to Dr. Cathy R. Creasia the Director of Accreditation and Credentialing and be primary contact regarding key assessments across Rossier Education Preparation Programs. Primarily responsible for ensuring alignment to Rossier program and any associated licensure requirement. Â Provide support in assessment alignment to prepare candidates for the edTPA certification requirement (at this time, MAT SS and MS, MAT TESOL:ELD/World Language, Thornton MA in Music Education, and MAT PPSC). Â The role includes serving candidates and providing workshops and a strong edTPA mentoring environment to candidates and faculty/staff. Additional administrative, faculty support, candidate support, technology support, assessment support responsibilities are listed below.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Access and distribute edTPA resources (handbooks, online resources, templates) to colleagues, candidates and supervisors as needed.
Work with state edTPA coordinator to ensure current practices are implemented.
Remain current on national and state changes/updates to the edTPA process.
Attend edTPA-related conferences.
Collaborate with edTPA Coordinators on both a State and National Level.
Monitor the score reporting and key assessment performance data for program improvement and accreditation related reporting
Serve as the key edTPA contact person for candidates and all other stakeholders in ensuring development and completion of the EdTPA
Serve as the key contact with CCTC and Pearson for all communication, updates, score release and testing policy decisions.
Create and enforce policies regarding edTPA submission, resubmission and score release.Â
Attend A-team meetings as necessary to address these policies and support struggling candidates.
Develop a timeline, communication structure and strategic plan for implementation of edTPA.
Represent the University on various local, state and national committees related to the implementation and monitoring of edTPA.Â
Provide information concerning edTPA to website developers.
Provide support for faculty as they work to incorporate edTPA activities into their courses.
Develop and provide on-going professional development for faculty, supervisors and other education professionals supporting edTPA Activities. Speak to candidates in classes as requested to inform candidates about edTPA and provide on-going support for candidates.
Interface with the credential analyst about edTPA scores and results for licensure.
Create and share reports and data analysis with faculty, departments and other stakeholders under direction of Director of Accreditaiton.
Attend program meetings to update faculty on edTPA and answer questions.
Inform key personnel of changes in the edTPA assessment and resources.Â
Inform teacher candidates of edTPA requirements.
Create and implement all training for each task of edTPA.Â Create materials and presents seminars , workshops and help sessions.
Support teacher candidates with Key Assessment platforms: EdThena, Task Stream, and/or Pearson registration, portfolio management and uploading edTPA components to appropriate program platform(s).
Work with faculty to monitor and troubleshoot teacher candidate submission of key assessments including EdTPA as needed
Assist and support candidates regarding any and all consent forms required
Archive informationÂ from previous edTPA results, and record data from future submissions for program improvement analysis and accreditation reporting.
Develop and oversee remediation process.Â This includes individual meetings with each candidate to review scores, individual tutoring sessions and individual resubmission.Â
Conduct an orientation each academic year or semester (by program) to introduce candidates to the expectations and requirements of edTPA.
Communicate with all candidates about edTPA information in a timely and clear manner, coordinating and responding to ongoing edTPA related issues and concerns.
Provide candidate support for edTPA by developing a support structure to assist candidates with edTPA submission.
Coordinate and implement help sessions during the semester for all program areas.
Serve as a liaison between USC Rossier and Pearson.
Provide support for Taskstream assessments/video recording and submission in coordination with faculty
Provide support for EdThena video recording and submission in coordination with faculty
Use the Pearson scores and analyses to conduct conversations with departments and stakeholders for program improvement.
Work with appropriate university personnel to include edTPA data as part of a multiple measure assessment system.Â
School District and Supervisors Communication
Communicate requirements for obtaining video permissions and provide resources for video recording.
Previous Experience Required:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in the field of Teacher Education
Exceptional communication and interpersonal relationship skills
Experience working with a variety of people including University administration, faculty, staff, admitted candidates, and prospective candidates.
Excellent detail-oriented and business skills
Ability to work with data of a confidential nature
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks
High level of team experience and customer service.Â
Knowledge of TPAâs and accreditation reporting.Â
Able to work in a complex process system of auditing, evaluating and analyzing information environment.
Ability to use technology for better efficiency and processing overall flow.
Experience working within a department within higher education reviewing student files, analyzing student information in Higher Education or experience with district/school level HR related to credentialing

Knowledge of Accreditation as related to teacher preparation program requirements
Master degree or relevant combination of education and work experience
