We have an exciting opportunity for a Talent Manager to join USC within the Talent Acquisition team. The team is focused on supporting the USC senior leadership team to identify and develop colleagues to meet future talent capability requirements through the recruitment and development of talent. The Talent Manager will design, develop and implement the talent review and assessment process, and conduct individual leadership, career and talent assessments. The Talent Manager will compile the skills, abilities, and goals of each employee, compare them to the needs of current and future roles, and track employee progress towards being ready to fill these roles.
Helping to define the talent and capability requirements of the business/function Â
Managing and facilitating the annual talent identification and review cycle that includes Talent Brokering, Succession Planning, identification of high-potential employees, assessment of flight risks, 360 feedback roll-out
Monitoring the effectiveness of 'Business as Usualâ talent management within the university, providing specialist insight, analysis and recommendations to continuously improve the approach
Strengthening and diversifying talent pipelines to business critical and leadership roles and embedding increased diversity in leadership roles
Advising on how to maximize talent and capability growth opportunities as well as to manage potential risk, within business change and transformation programs
Benchmarking and developing the senior leadership population; including succession plan deployment leadership assessment and development and implementation of initiatives to drive increased diversity in leadership roles
Design, develop and implement a talent review process for succession planning
Implementation of the 360 performance assessment
Compile goals, skills, abilities of the employees and compare them to the needs of current and future roles
Track employee progress
Facilitate talent review discussions
Developing materials and providing expert and influential guidance to HR stakeholders on talent management related matters along with roll-out of new talent management products and solutions
Actively up-skilling and improving collaboration across the HR teams and senior leadership to strengthen talent management across USC
The Successful Candidate:
A proven collaborator with the ability to influence senior management.
A track record of supporting business leaders to identify, develop and deploy talent
10+ years experience in researching, developing and implementing progressive talent models and interventions
Comfortable using data to drive insight and decision making
4+ years experience in working with external consultants
Excellent communication and relationship management skills
Pro-active, resilient, motivated and results oriented
Proven experience delivering projects and facilitating/coordinating meetings within a large complex organization
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degreeMinimum Experience: 7 years. Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum experienceMinimum Field of Expertise: Seven yearsâ experience researching, developing and implementing progressive talent models and interventions, and at least four yearsâ experience working with external consultants. Demonstrated experience of collaboration with and ability to influence senior management. Track record of supporting business leaders in identifying, developing and deploying talent.
