The USC Keck School of Medicine - Alzheimer Therapeutic Research Institute (ATRI), located in San Diego, California is an academic institute comprised of an expert panel of scientific collaborators committed to advancing the development of new treatments for Alzheimerâs Disease (AD) through innovative clinical trials.
The ATRI Informatics team is seeking an experienced IT Technical Writer to actively contribute to the ATRI mission.
Demonstrated expertise in object-oriented programming and in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, functional design, architecture design, implementation, and testing.
Working with internal design and software engineers to obtain an in-depth understanding of the products and writing support documentation
Writing and editing user manuals, help systems and other technical documents
Writing and editing document cloud services APIs
Writing and editing document on DevOps architecture
Writing and editing tutorials to help end-users
Producing high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards
Use photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts to increase users' understanding
Analyzing existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
Curate and organize content using web-based interface
Ensure compliance with law (e.g. copyright and data protection)
Apply robust document control & review process of all technical documents
Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation
Strong understanding of Agile methodology/SDLC and tools (e.g. Jira)
Ability to deliver high-quality documentation paying attention to detail
Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
Excellent written skills in English
Strong command of language, grammar, copywriting and editing.
Strong background in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Bachelor's Degree, preferred in Technical Communications, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent is required.
