The University of Southern California (USC) has established a Workday Financials deployment program covering our academic enterprise as well as our hospitals. This program is critical to USCâs overall goals to improve administrative efficiency. Workday Financials will be paired with the existing Workday HR and Payroll solutions implemented in 2013.Â
We are currently seeking a Business Analyst â Budget Prep Plan, Assets, Inventory to join our Workday Financials deployment program team. The Business Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that the overall Workday solutions meet the business requirements. This includes requirements gathering, solution design, build, test, and deployment.Â Design will involve extrapolating from requirements the fundamental needs of the business while leveraging the most efficient solution provided by Workday.Â In some cases, we expect to challenge and optimize current business process.
The ideal candidate must possess 2 years of business analyst experience with a sound understanding of project management methodologies, business process flow, and documentation procedures. Experience with large enterprise software projects, Workday or other Financial ERP solutions and within Higher Education/Healthcare are strongly preferred.Â

What Youâll Do:
Facilitate design workshops and work closely with business owners to gather and document user stories within USCâs tracking software
Translate user stories into detailed requirements and Workday use cases
Work with project leadership and business owners to adapt requirements with an eye for business process optimization
Develop subject matter expertise for assigned business and associated system functionality
Work collaboratively in an iterative agile âstyleâ environment
Work with project team members and consultants to configure the application
Help manage execution of the testing strategy
Assist project team members in the design of new (or redesign of existing) integrations
Draft project documentation including configuration manuals and business cases (e.g., white paper, policy challenges) supporting the escalation of business decisions
Meet with customer groups to determine IT business requirements
Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis.
Provide information to developers and subject matter experts for the establishment of the technical vision and performance needs
Serve as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development or business process re-engineering team through which requirements flow
Participate in project meetings to review project deliverables and timelines.
Work with quality assurance personnel to ensure product adequately meets allfunctional needs defined in scope of project
Participate in testing developed software or new process flow

The Must Haves:
Bachelorâs degree in business administration, organization development, communication orrelated discipline
2 years of business analysis experienceÂ
Strong knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies, business process flow, and documentation procedures Experience and knowledge of change management principles,methodologies and tools
Strong oral and written communication skills
Abilityto multitask, interact with multiple stakeholders and navigate changing priorities.Â
Ability to work on moderately complexprogramming activities under supervision of senior IT Business Analyst
Experience supporting administrative processes for budget checking, asset management, or inventory management
The Nice to Haves:
3-5 years of business analyst experience focused on large enterprise software projects or support
Some experience working within a Higher Education and/or Health Care industry
Experience with Workday or other Financial ERP solutions through on-going support or deployment
