Provides general laboratory assistance to support research activities. Conducts research experiments in accordance with laboratory and safety protocols. Performs assignments which are non-routine and vary in complexity with minimal direction. Compiles data and computes results for a variety of research procedures, tests and techniques.
The candidate should have at least 2 yearsâ experience or training in techniques of cell culture, RNAseq, DNA isolation, as well as basic knowledge of histological techniques, such as tissue perfusion, cryostat sectioning, and immunostaining/immunoblotting, fluorescent and/or confocal. Willingness to work with experimental murine models.
Experience with animal models is a plus; providing knowledge of computer analysis techniques and ability to provide routine analysis and interpretation of research data.
The laboratory is internationally recognized for research contributions in Alzheimerâs disease and stroke, and has interest in other neurodegenerative diseases, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Â State-of-the-art imaging and cellular and molecular methods for studies of brain vascular and neuronal functions are available.
Preferred Education: Â Master's degree in biology, neuroscience or related field.
