Required â High School or equivalent experience preferred.Â Â Â Â Â Â
Six months experience as a cook, preferably in a hospital setting. Preferred education or classes in nutrition, cooking, food safety or hotel management desirable but not required.
Active involvement with professional food service organization is greatly desired.
Required -Â Fire and Safety Certification: Current LA City Fire Card within 90 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
Certified Food Handler Certificate or equivalent ServSafe Certificate is greatly desirable but not required.

Responsible for the preparation of foods for patients and some catering. Maintains high standards of quality food production and portion control, using standardized recipes. Responsible for appropriate quantities of food needed to meet menu requirements. Responsible for following standards and methods as outlined in Policy and Procedures to promote high quality food and prevent food borne illness in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations.
