The Mrs. T. H. Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at the University of Southern California invites applicants for a full-time clinical faculty positions in inpatient acute rehabilitation.
The successful candidate will work with the Division's current faculty members to develop and implement occupational therapy services and direct patient care in coordination with the interdisciplinary team and in compliance with organizational goals and appropriate regulatory agencies.Â This position is available in adult acute rehabilitation at Keck Hospital of USC.
Under the supervision of the Occupational Therapy clinical leadership team, provide comprehensive patient care to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients who require the highest level of clinical skills and problem solving.Â Major duties include consistently performing accurate patient evaluation and treatment planning for positive patient outcomes, problem resolution, and patient care documentation; maintenance of an appropriate level of productivity; and participation in team building, identification and initiation of areas of program development, presenting in-services to therapy staff and hospital departments, orientation of new staff, assisting with identification and completion of performance improvement activities.Â Duties include assessing learning needs of the individuals and groups in the OT department in order to plan and prioritize the appropriate teaching and learning activities.Â Subsequently, implements the teaching plans and education activities and evaluates the effectiveness of those programs in an effort to constantly improve the quality of education and staff performance. Orientation of new staff and clinical instruction to Level I and Level II Occupational Therapy interns. Must demonstrate knowledge of current and evidence-based practice in the field of Occupational Therapy, effective verbal and written communication, and mature and sound judgment.
Qualifications include: an earned O.T.D. degree; excellent clinical ability (advanced practice in neurological rehabilitation, oncology, or cardiopulmonary services preferred); experience working in adult physical rehabilitation; and current license to practice occupational therapy in California. Acute rehabilitation experience, all medical-surgical and intensive care units, Lymphedema management experience, Low vision services, upper extremity management (HTC, PAMS certified preferred).
