Under general direction, this position is responsible for reviewing all incoming employee travel/non-travel expense reimbursement reports in Chrome River, our online travel and expense reimbursement system, review cardholdersâ™ credit card expense reports in Chrome River, provide training and customer service to Chrome River end users. Run and review monthly travel and employee AR reports for each traveler, reconcile open travel encumbrances monthly and prepare journal entries to adjust balances or to correct expense coding. Assist AP staff with the processing of PO and non-PO invoices, prepare quarterly deferred rent reconciliations, and handle complex issues (fund allocations, sales tax calculation and review, vendor disputes, and fund/account reconciliations). Train Accounts Payable employees in the Chrome River AP Reviewer role so they may provide backup coverage. Review and resolve electronic (cXML) invoice errors in SalkShop (Jaggaer - SciQuest).
Ensure confidentiality of information, follow accounting principles, and exercise sound judgment. Work closely with Chrome River end users, Research Accounting, Procurement, Receiving and other departments/labs of the Institute, as well as vendors.
May also include reviewing AP journal entries and FedEx journals).
Bachelorâ™s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and related work experience in accounting, payroll or finance.âƒ
Must be willing to work in an animal-related research environment.
Satisfactory completion of the Instituteâ™s background investigation.
Must be able to work overtime as needed and occasionally work a flexible schedule based on workload and deadlines. Peak times include month-end and year-end close, and audits.
Must be willing to work at a location away from the main campus and travel to and from campus as needed.
