The incumbent reports directly to the Department Administrator of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, oversees the daily activities of purchasing within the Department, and acts as a liaison among Central Purchasing, and Accounting. With delegated authority for purchases up to $10,000.00, the incumbent processes requisitions of all materials, supplies, and services for all department faculty and assures all items and services are purchased in accordance with specifications and requirements.
The incumbent has responsibility for policy analysis/interpretation and independent problem solving responsibilities that require on-going interaction with vendors, all levels of agency administrators, University faculty, and staff. Incumbent also serves as back-up contact for all department purchases, reimbursements, and disbursements.
The incumbent is also responsible for management and coordination of all day-to-day activities for the Chair and the Department Administrator of the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. Also responsible for assisting with merit and promotion dossier preparation, and senate faculty recruitment activities such as providing support to search committees, arranging or coordinating travel, lodging, recruitment seminar scheduling, reimbursement and receptions for faculty candidates. Assists with organizing appointment dossiers.

Salary: Hourly $23.58 - $32.06 Total Hours: 8-5, M-F Career Position. Final candidate subject to background check.
