The Web Developer provides analytical, web server, and development support for the ProjectHQ Film Management System and other external facing websites. The incumbent serves as a contact with various constituent groups for design requirements, production problems and providing technical guidance. This role will also help the development efforts of the university portal and work closely with the application development team and programmers to provide constituencies a seamless experience between the portal and other web-based applications. Additionally, this position will provide backup for our Webmaster to the internet websites, creating templates, and dynamic-content pages using ASP programming, as well as managing security roles, web analytics, search engine optimization, and troubleshooting website issues. Bachelor's Degree in computer science or Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated professional work experience in a related field, working with web development and systems integration.
Proven ability to evaluate data, assess alternatives, and to make decision and/or recommendations as required.
Experience in planning and delivering software training across multiple systems and organizational units.
Demonstrate conceptual knowledge of relational databases and related tools.
Proven ability to adapt to new technologies.
Strong interpersonal skills to work with a diverse group of individuals at all levels, both inside and outside the university.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and use tact and diplomacy.
Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks when faced with interruptions, distractions, and fluctuating workload.
Ability to learn and interpret university policies and procedures.
Knowledge of WCAG Accessibility Guidelines, Microsoft SharePoint, ASP and VP Programming, Agile Software Development Practices and PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
Working knowledge of higher education processes, policies, and procedures that pertain to the duties of this position.
