The PA will be working in the Vascular Surgery Department supporting a Vascular Surgeon. The practice will consist of outpatient and inpatient responsibilities, including but not limited to, rounding on patients at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and assisting in surgery. Facilitates admissions and transfers from other hospitals, triages calls and messages.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as ultrasound, CT/MRI scans, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal.
Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, sclerotherapy, Cutera laser, incision and drainages wound care, managing infection, as well as other responsibilities within a scope of practice.
Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens.
Assists surgeon in operation room procedures including cleaning, retracting, providing, hemostasis and suturing .
