The Scientific Research Programmer Analyst position will be shared between the School of Medicine and the Center for Statistical Consulting (CSC). The position will initially be responsible for the development and maintenance of a dynamic database necessary to store longitudinal data from a variety of clinical research sources including imaging, bioassays, laboratory tests, activity tracking and survey measures received from ongoing data collection and multiple sights. The database will need to integrate imaging data, including Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA), and Electronic Momentary assessment (EMA) data from smartphone and activity monitoring devices, with information collected in an existing REDCap database. The initial focus for this role is to design and build a data platform that allow School of Medicine researchers to easily query the database for use for hypothesis-driven research. Once the database is complete the role will shift to database maintenance and increasing responsibilities with the CSC. Ongoing duties with the CSC will incorporate data management and programming responsibilities for other projects associated with the consulting center. These projects will involve assisting CSC statisticians with programming needs related to client databases, creation and formatting of datasets necessary for analysis, providing advice on the development and creation of data collection tools for research projects, and various other programming related duties associated with internal CSC projects.The position will report directly to the Director for the UCI Center for Statistical Consulting (CSC).The University of California, Irvine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer advancing inclusive excellence.
