Design and troubleshooting of electronics, computer control, data acquisition and related mechanical systems.
Develop and assemble new and current data acquisition equipment to meet individual researchers specifications and requirements.
Repair and modify available equipment to meet the need of researchers.
Confer with faculty, students and researchers advising them on available equipment, research design, developmental costs and instruction on their use.
Supervise student and scholars working in a research environment for proper use of equipment, instrumentation and facilities in a safe and productive environment.
Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
An associates degree in computer programing, data acquisition systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
One year of experience in the programing of data acquisition systems, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of specialized research and laboratory electronic, data acquisition instrumentation and related mechanical equipment.
It is highly desirable that the applicant have experience in pneumatic and hydraulic servosystems and programming experience with MatLab and LabView.
Also desired are experience in a research intensive environment, supervisory experience, experience working with students, the ability to write bid specifications and experience meeting payroll.
