BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY
To perform responsible secretarial work for a department or division with primary secretarial responsibility for department head(s), director(s), and professional staff members.
Answer phones and greet visitors, students, customers or other guests; provide general information and assist in preparation of forms as needed; direct and/or refer individuals to appropriate destination.
Compose routine correspondence; proofread and/or finalize correspondence, reports, or other documents.
Screen and appropriately distribute messages; schedule and/or arrange appointments as necessary; arrange travel and accommodations; request, receive and provide a variety of information.
Compile data or reports from a variety of sources in accordance with instructions or procedures.
Prepare and/or process purchase and supply requisitions, personnel and/or payroll records, expense accounts, or other documents. Maintain equipment and supply inventory.
High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Minimum of three years related experience is necessary.
Proficient keyboarding skills are necessary.
Competency with computer-based office software and web-based applications, or ability to become proficient within a few weeks may be necessary depending on the position available
The final candidate is required to provide copies of official transcript(s) for any college degree(s) listed in application materials submitted. Copies of transcript(s) should be provided prior to the start of employment. In addition, the final candidate may be required to verify other credentials listed in application materials.
