POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN VASCULAR NEUROBIOLOGY
The laboratory of Professor Mark Fisher, Department of Neurology, UC Irvine, seeks an outstanding scientist in the field of vascular neurobiology, including blood-brain barrier. Professor Fisher has recently been awarded a 5-year renewal of his NIH research grant (first funded in 1984) to develop mechanistic investigations into the pathophysiology of cerebral small vessel disease, with particular emphasis on cerebral microbleeds. The work involves the coordinated efforts of five research laboratories, with robust opportunities of collaborations.
Requirements: Applications are sought from recent Ph.D. and/or MD graduates. Experience preferred in cell culture/cell biology, protein and molecular level analytics, small animal experimentation, and experimental neuropathology including immunohistology. Command of spoken and written English is essential.
Additional Information: Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year with opportunities for renewal based primarily on research progress. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
