The Office of Human Resources and Payroll Services at Pitzer College seeks a skilled, astute and friendly office support professional. This front office position performs a broad range of highly skilled technical, administrative, and clerical work to support a busy and fast-paced department. While previous experience in human resources and/or payroll is desirable, we are willing to train you if you have the right combination of soft skills for this important role on our team.
This position requires an individual who is a quick-learner, highly dependable, easily and quickly switches between tasks, manages a high-volume of documents, emails and phone calls with attention to detail, maintains composure in difficult situations, and has an approachable and positive personality. Maintaining strict confidentiality and consistently providing exceptional customer service with a good attitude in a fast-paced office is critical for this position. Spanish language skills are desirable.

A. General Office: Handles administrative details and support for department. B. File and Data Management: Manages the office’s confidential electronic and hardcopy files. C. Hiring and Terminations: Coordinates hiring and termination processes for student and temporary employees. D. Guest Relations: Greets, directs and assists guests to the HR/Treasurer’s offices suite. E. Staff Recruitment: Supports recruitment of non-academic openings; including posting, questions, scheduling, background checks, physical tests, and as needed. F. Benefits: Manages the College’s tuition remission, computer loan and rideshare programs. G. Back-Up Support: Provides support to other department team members for regular and special projects as needed and as assigned.
Education: High school plus two or more years of college or business school; OR any combination of education and experience that provides the required skills and abilities. Experience: Must have at least two years of related experience without a bachelor’s degree, OR at least one year with a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development or a related field. Experience during college is acceptable.
Licenses/Certifications: Must have a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record. Must be able to drive self to/from nearby off-campus locations.
