This position is in the Department of Pediatrics Newborn Medicine. The position is located at Northwest Tower. This position is for the Medical School Campus.
Position is with a research team that does clinical studies of magnetic resonance imaging, neurodevelopmental and psychological assessments and genetic testing to study the neurological impact of congenital heart disease. This position performs a variety of research, database and clerical duties of a routine and technical nature in support of this clinical research to ensure adherence to protocols and quality of information received.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receives and disseminates study-related regulatory documents and correspondence; assists in screening documents for completeness and compliance with protocol and appropriate regulations; assists in investigating incomplete, inaccurate or missing documents to ensure accuracy and completeness of data.
Assists with preparation and quality assessment of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data that have been acquired from study visits.
Performs MRI processing and analysis techniques.� This may include use of a Linux system and application of specialized software programs or imaging analysis techniques. This may also involve manual modifications to the output of these programs/techniques.
Responsible for maintaining detailed records of MRI analysis, works other study team members to ensure accuracy and completeness of MRI data, and responsible for communication with collaborators regarding MRI data and analysis.
Performs data entry and maintains data files on research.� Assists with maintenance of the study regulatory binder.
Develops, organizes, and/or maintains detailed research databases. May use programs such as excel and REDCap.� Also responsible for data validation and quality control, even beyond MRI data. Maintains and updates site demographics on computer database; logs forms received and file as appropriate; prepares reports from database to include weekly reports and other reports as requested.
May assist with screening and recruitment of study participants and completion of study visits.
Orders lab supplies, equipment, and software as necessary.
Assists with administrative tasks including scheduling, meeting coordination, preparation of meeting materials, etc.
Performs literature searches, as appropriate.
Assists with preparation of materials for presentations and manuscripts including basic statistical analysis and creation of charts, graphs, and tables.
Communicates and coordinates with other study personnel as required for study implementation, data collection, data analysis, and routine problem resolution.
Attends routine meetings and other meetings related to the clinical research; stays abreast of information and any changes to study protocol.
High school diploma plus 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in medical environment.
Some college may substitute for experience.
Bachelors degree preferred but not required.
Must have strong attention to detail, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and communicate with laboratory staff and investigators.
Ability to maintain complete and organized records/reports.
Working knowledge of computer software and general lab equipment.
Experience with specific MRI software is not required, but ability to learn these tools. Comfortable with, or ability to learn, basic medical terms, particularly as it relates to neuroanatomy.�
The hiring range for this position is $15.54 - $19.05 per hour.
