Position Summary: Provides oversight for the daily operations of the assigned pharmacy. Responsible for fiscal and productivity management and planning of area operations. Coordinates provision of all pharmacy services, including budget, operations, quality management, personnel, administrative, regulatory and educational functions. Ensure that the area meets all defined objectives and standards of practice, including compliance with applicable state and federal laws, accrediting body requirements, and customer service. Responsible for provision and documentation of medications and medication-related services to patients, according to standards established by the Department of Pharmacy. Serve as preceptor to pharmacy residents and students as assigned. Participate in Medical Center and Departmental committees and promote institution-wide medication use policy. Performs as the designated Pharmacist in Charge for the assigned pharmacy. Incumbents will lecture two times per year to other medical professionals and be published at least one time every three years in a medical journal. May be a co-principal investigator on patient clinical research, or an investigator on Pharmacy practice research. This position is a Direct Patient Care Provider as defined in Pharmacy Policy.
Rate Minimum $117,500.00 Maximum $211,700.00
Required Qualifications: Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workloadCurrent BLS or ACLS certificationDemonstrated leadership experienceDoctorate of Pharmacy degree.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishMinimum four (4) years of clinical experience as a licensed pharmacist, or two years' experience & a Residency.Must be able to work various hours, shifts and locations based on business needs.Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the jobMust possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned dutiesRegistered Pharmacist in the state of CaliforniaThree (3) years of ambulatory clinical pharmacy experience; PGY2 and several years of clinical work or an equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Effective presentation skillsPossession and active maintenance of a Board Certification from a Department of Pharmacy approved organization.Previous Supervisory or Management ExperienceSignificant experience (more than 2 years) developing and implementing drug utilization programs for both inpatient and outpatient populations
