The primary function of the Sr. Clinical Laboratory Scientist Specialist is to act as technical consultant and resource for staff, Medical Enterprise and community. Responsibilities include identification and resolution of basic and complex patient red cell antibody problems, investigation/development of new/modified test procedures and technical review and monitoring of existing procedures, coordination of quality control, quality assurance, and proficiency testing activities. Responsibilities may also include identification of staff training needs and evaluating the competency of testing personnel. Work assignments are made by the Manager and/or Supervisor and/or Faculty on a daily or project basis.
Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS).
Must have at least three to five (3 - 5) years of applicable clinical laboratory experience.
A Bachelor's Degree.
Completion of Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB).
Candidate may be scheduled to work weekends, holidays and alternate shifts when necessary.
Primary shift is the day shift. Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime and at various locations as necessary in accordance with operational needs.
