The Information Services/Epic Trainer plays an important role in educating and preparing new and existing staff at UC San Diego Health that make use of the Epic EMR and other IT applications. As part of the IS Training team, incumbent will support end user learning, especially in the ambulatory space, via a variety of channels.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide classroom instruction for clinical and non-clinical staff on Epic applications and other IT services during new employee orientation as well as ongoing refresher classes. Acquire knowledge of Epic functionality and workflows of audience group. Perform site visits in hospital and clinic areas, shadowing end user workflows for learning and observation. Provide 1:1 instruction and at-the-elbow support when necessary. Work closely with application training and build analysts to ensure proper understanding and communication related to class curriculum, system changes and best practices.
Provides feedback from classroom and on-site visits to help optimize system and users' understanding of the same. Conduct self as a positive spokesperson and
