The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, invites applications for a full-time Financial Specialist. Reporting to the business manager, the financial specialist is responsible for assisting with the management of the fiscal and human resources operations of this large academic and comprehensive research department. Primary duties and responsibilities include: managing and coordinating budgets for research, scholarship, and gift accounts; general ledger accounting; approvals of accounts payable, procurement, travel, and biweekly payroll; supervision or team lead of designated departmental support staff; Human resource review and approval (46 faculty, 30 staff, 250 graduate students, joint and adjunct faculty) and assisting the business manager in the management of the annual state budget and associated revenues. The financial specialist will also assist with the preparation of reports for purposes of strategic planning and program accreditation.
